What I do

 

I am an experienced, professional counsellor providing a supportive, confidential service for people with a wide variety of psychological and emotional issues.

 

I have an extensive private practice where I work with individuals, couples and

organisations. I see clients individually to deal with issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement and life crises. I also specialise in helping couples with relationship problems and clients suffering with Eating Disorders and eating problems.

I believe it is the quality of the relationship between the counsellor and the client which enables the client to resolve their issues. For me this means accepting each client as a unique individual with their own particular issues, enabling them to feel safe enough to trust the counselling process and commit themselves to working with me to make the necessary changes in their lives.

 

Although it is not easy to make these changes and the process needs patience, understanding, compassion and humility on my part as well as commitment, trust and responsibility on the part of the client, I know from experience that the vast majority of clients do succeed in resolving their issues.

 

 

About me

 

I graduated at Oxford University and trained as a counsellor at Wealden College where I obtained my post graduate Diploma in Counselling and subsequently I obtained my Diploma in Eating Disorders at the National Centre for Eating Disorders.

 

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within the BACP’s Code of Ethics and Practice. I am also a professional trainer and Director of the Raphael Training Institute.
