Can Counselling Help Me?
Counselling can help with a wide range of problems and
issues. It can help you to deal with long-term issues such
as low self-esteem, depression, anger management,
stress, isolation and loneliness. Equally, it can help with
specific issues such as bereavement, a relationship
breakup, employment and redundancy problems, trauma
following an accident or an eating disorder.
Or you may be looking for help in a more general way, for
greater understanding of yourself, for better ways of
relating to others, or for a more positive direction to your
life. In these cases I can assist you to find a new
dimension and a deeper meaning to your life.
The focus in counselling is on you as an individual. While
many issues are common to everyone, each of us is
unique and the emphasis is on helping you to understand
your needs and to help you to discover how to deal with
those needs in the way that is most appropriate for you.
In counselling, you are encouraged to explore your issues
in the way that is best for you. You may not even be
aware what the real issue is. Or you may come to
counselling with a specific problem and as this problem is
explored and you gain more insight, you may come to a
greater understanding of your life as a whole and begin to
make changes in other areas of your life.
