Background
MA (Oxon), Dip. Counselling, Member BACP
A graduate of Oxford University, I trained at Wealden College
where I obtained my post graduate Diploma in
Counselling and I subsequently trained with the
National Centre for Eating Disorders.
I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling
and Psychotherapy and work within the BACP’s Code of
Ethics and Practice. I receive regular supervision from an
experienced counselling supervisor and am covered by
professional indemnity insurance. I am also a member of
Sussex Counselling and the Eastbourne Counselling Cooperative.
My theoretical approach is humanistic, in that I believe
that all human beings have the potential to grow in a
positive way and that we all possess choice, personal
responsibility and the ability to change.
I also believe that at some level we know what is best for
ourselves and that we all have the resources within
ourselves for self-understanding and for making the
changes that are necessary to live more fulfilling lives.
My aim, therefore, is to help you to become aware of
these resources, to help you accept them as valid and
to help you to gain the strength to take responsibility
for your life so that you have the freedom to make real
choices and meaningful changes in your life.
